The reason I am doing what I am doing, is because I want to share the truth of my country to the world. To a world where Azerbaijan has shared lies into with the money they have. They claim Artsakh has always been theirs and this article will prove them wrong. I started writing books to share roman stories with Armenian culture in it, so people would learn about it in a very fun way. Even after being threatened so many times, being put on the black list in Turkey and Azerbaijan, I will never stop sharing about my country.

Artsakh (Karabakh) is an integral part of historic Armenia. During the Urartian era (9-6th cc. B.C.) Artsakh was known as Urtekhe-Urtekhini.

The name Artsakh contains the root "tsakh", which means "forest" in ancient Armenian. The historical roots of Artsakh can be traced back to the 5th century BC, when the social fabric of the Kingdom of Armenia was centered on local dynastic princes known as nakharars.

It was the 10th province of the Kingdom of Armenia ( 189 BC - 387 AD). After this, Artsakh fell into the hands of Persians and later into the hands of Arabs. This was until 821 where Artsakh formed the Armenian principality of Khachen and later on The Kingdom of Artsakh.

Artsakh had become a major stronghold for Armenian missionaries to proclaim the Christian Gospel to neighbouring countries. In 310 the 15 years old St Grigoris, which was the grandson of Grigor the Illuminator, was ordained bishop of Caucasian Iberia and Albania in the monastery. ( Yes, there was no country called “Azerbaijan” since it was Caucasian Albania before they got killed). Around 410 Mesrop Mashtots opened at Amaras the first Armenian school. Later on, more schools were opened.

(Fact: Mesrop Mashtots was the creator of Albanian and Georgian alphabet)

How come Azeris are saying that Artsakh is theirs?

In 1813, Artsakh fell under the rule of the Russian empire. The population here was a mix of Armenians and Tatars. According to statistics carried by the Russians, Artsakh had an Armenian population of 96.7%. This was for the High land and the population of Artsakh Khanate was 91% of Islamic Tatars.

After the dissolution of Russian Empire Karabakh, Zangezur and Nakhchivan were disputed between newly established republics of Armenia and Azerbaijan. The local council representing the Karabakh Armenian community consented to this decision until, in August 1919, the region was made subject to Azerbaijan military jurisdiction in advance of Azerbaijan's prospective annexation of Karabakh. In 1921 after the heavy trilateral negotiations, the Bolsheviks decided that Karabakh would remain within the borders of the new Soviet republic of Azerbaijan. Armenians felt betrayed since Artsakh had been historical Armenian lands, and just one paper decided to give that history to Azerbaijan. One paper signed by another country made these Azeris think that Artsakh is their historical land. The land was illegally promised to them by Joseph Stalin.

Hope to write more blogs so everyone can learn the truth. Artsakh is Armenia and will always be, that is why we will never stop until we get it all back.
