A couple months ago I ordered a DNA kit from 23andme.com and today I have received the answers! Now, where am I originally from?
Before the Genocide in 1915, my family lived in Mardin (we are Mardinciner aka people from Mardin) and then most of my family fled to Zakho, Iraq. Once there (1917) half of them died on their way there, some of them were killed or died of hunger or other reasons. The family were 4 brothers first, and one mother. Our grand-grand father was killed so our grand-grand mother had to marry again. She married a man from Sasun, one of the Sasunciner that came to Mardin, to save Armenians from the Ottoman Empire that were trying to kill all Armenians. One of the 4 brothers went to Armenia and the plan was that we would follow them after that but unfortunately we lost them until we reunited in Europe again. I met my cousin from this part of family 2 years ago! She lives in Holland now.

As you can see, I am 93.6% Armenian from the regions: Mardin-Van-Bitlis. This used to be Western-Armenia. This information is 100% correct because of our known family history. My grand-grand-father was Sasunci but he wasn’t blood related to me since I am linked to the my grand grand-mother‘s first husband, the one that was killed by the Ottoman Empire.
It does say Iraq as well, since my family lived there from 1917 until they came to Europe/USA/Australia.

rita, your DNA suggests that 6.4% of your ancestry is Levantine:
The Levant — comprising modern-day Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Israel, and Palestine: showing this:

I also found some relatives! Which is so amazing to see! I sent them all an invitation in hope to see where their path changed. This was just so much fun to see and a relieve that I indeed am almost 100% pure Armenian. Which makes sense, since I am very much crazy for my country! 🤭
